Fans of ABC’s Nashville certainly were excited when news first broke that actor Jonathan Jackson was partnering with General Hospital alum Steve Burton to open Jack and Jameson’s Smokehouse, a restaurant, bar and music venue, in Franklin. Since then, updates on the opening haven’t exactly been plentiful, but now the wait appears to be over, as a surprise opening was announced early yesterday evening.

One week ago, Jack and Jameson’s Smokehouse opened up shop in the former home of Mickey Roos Barbecue down in Franklin. The owners of this joint are new to the barbecue arena, but you’ll likely recognize them anyway. Television stars Jonathan Jackson (Nashville, General Hospital, The Sarah Connor Chronicles) and Steve Burton (The Young and the Restless, General Hospital) joined forces to bring this restaurant/bar/music venue to life. I can imagine that Jack and Jameson’s will become a tourist hotspot, so I wanted to check them out before word officially spread to the masses…
Two of General Hospital’s most
The two have parted ways from General Hospital, as Steve Burton now plays Dylan McAvoy on The Young and the Restless, and Jonathan Jackson has moved to ABC’s Primetime drama, Nashville, as Avery Barkley. Although they are no longer co-workers in show biz, they are taking their colleague-ship in an entirely new direction.
Jackson and Burton have announced that they, along with third co-owner, restaurateur, Richard Shannon will open a Tennessee Smokehouse. The venue has been described as “a family-friendly, world class,” restaurant and concert venue.
At Jack and Jameson’s Smoke House, expect to indulge in barbecue and burgers, and will have 15-20 local brews on tap.

Already there have been a few reviews posted to their Facebook page stating, “My husband and I both had the brisket on a pretzel bun which was delicious; the BBQ sauce and ketchup both seemed homemade and had tons of flavor. Our kids ate all of their pork sandwich and Mac and Cheese (which is a miracle). Overall it was a really great experience and we’ll definitely be back!”
“Very nice place! Had a bison burger and Tennessee cheese steak! Both were very good, although I’d skip the tomato and lettuce and add more pepper and onions to the cheese steak. Great place! Will go back.”
